THERE IS NO TIME. BEHIND GLASS (2014)

No Time. Behind Glass is a site-specific project based on a play by Volodymyr Snihurchenko. Rather than telling a story about violence, it reconstructs the conditions under which violence becomes a habitual mode of closeness. Two characters exist in a space separated by glass: an environment without an external world, where bodies orient themselves toward one another through words, pauses, and repetitions that accumulate tension instead of offering explanations. Violence here does not occur as an event - it is sustained, закреплюючись in everyday gestures and speech.

The spectator does not occupy a safe position of observation: their presence alters the distribution of tension within the space and stabilizes the situation. The anticipation of an ending does not discharge the action but prolongs it, turning into a form of affective participation. The question “when will this end?” does not open a way out - it merely registers an attachment to a situation in which violence holds people together longer than any decision could. An exit is possible only as a rupture of orientations, one that is almost unthinkable, because the very maintenance of violence produces a sense of connection.
